So, I haven’t updated this blog in a while. Other than being a repository for the particularly cute stories about my kids, I figure I can use it to track my progress in drawing.
I’ve always wanted to be able to draw, and I have given it sporadic attention at a few points in my life, most recently being in 2000. I wish I had stayed with it, and that’s my goal now. I’ve been working consistently on this since last October, and I’m pleased with my progress thus far.
Here’s the latest drawing I have scanned; it’s one I worked on at the end of last week, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker from Return of the Jedi. (My first drawing back in October was also of Hamill.) I don’t hate this drawing, but it’s not my best work.
From earlier in the month, here’s one of Hermione from the Harry Potter movies. It didn’t start out well, but I like the result.
And this is probably my best finished drawing. It’s Kevin Costner from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. (But, if I had to tell you that, then it’s probably not as good as I thought.) I got a good review on this from the instructor of the online drawing tutorial I’m taking.
Ironically, I was watching the superior Patrick Bergin version of Robin Hood when I started drawing this. That was in mid-February.
